I had beam radiation. There are worse things on the planet. It's an endurance test, but doable. Three years out and my PSA is very low. Side effects aren't bad, little ED, hemorrhoids slightly worse, bit of urgency but other than that, I am fine.

Still, I am a bit surprised they ruled out surgery for you.

Joey, what about HDR Brachy or SBRT? Are they out also or have these been explored yet? Remember, the practitioners of these are real specialists and an "RO" might or might not have the specialized knowledge to rule them in or out.

Seeds are not possible because of my ostomy.

There are no seeds involved with HDR brachy or SBRT. To Tud's point unless you spoke with an RO that worked with those techniques, they would have been very unlikely to have brought them up.

In The Shop, I didn't rule the surgery out, the surgeon did. I have a ostomy to much scare tissue makes it to hard be done.
