Bone pain is getting worse. Any advice please

Hi everyone. My dad has just started decotaxel And zometa, he had hos first docetaxel and zometa 4 weeks ago but he can't see any relief from the pain even with pain killer.
He has pain on his lower back and left leg and he can't sit for a long time.
Any advice please.

Exactly, spot radiation is a very effective management for pain, from the testimonials on this board and elsewhere. It could be done in 1 session, or 5 sessions spread over 1 week. Because the spot is his lower back, the doctors should keep a very close eye on his spine regarding spinal cord compression - a complication of the bone met on spine that should be avoided at all cost. It leads to disability. People can live a long time with bone mets, and this is not a complication they need. Hope you can be an advocate for your dad at some of his appts. My husband has had bone mets for several years and sometimes the pain is really bad, and other times not. He has been on a 12 mg fentanyl patch for quite awhile now, and he occasionally takes a narco for breakthrough pain. Hope you can find relief. Xofigo is supposed to help with pain too if he gets that at some point. It's a concern that his pain level is high at the early stage of mets. Your dad is lucky to have such a concerned and caring daughter.
