Arm Pit/Lymph Node question

I'm waiting for scheduled CK to be performed in a week or two. Back in February I had some version of a head and chest cold and when it arrived in my chest both underarms showed some puffiness and mild soreness. It continued after the chest cold left a week later.

I went to see my GP in March and had him look at things. He had me do a blood test and reported that everything looked normal.

It has been another 6 weeks and things are unchanged. I of course worry that it has something to do with PCa, but I have no other obvious puffiness or soreness in other typical lymph node areas. I did decide to get another PSA this coming week since my last one was before the chest cold.

Anyone heard of this type of thing?

Dx in 2010 at age 56, 1 of 12 positive, 5-10% of core tissue, G6, PSA 2.3, DRE normal. Family history: father. Stage: T1c. General health good. Pursued Active Surveillance. Two subsequent biopsies showed no change with G6 and 1 of 12. Jan '15 biopsy showed progression: 3 of 12, G 3+4, 10-15%. PSA 2.5. Now age 60, CK scheduled for May '15.

Whats a CK? A checkup. Don't panic with the next statement or be insulted. Answer it to yourself, if needed. Have you ever been tested for HIV? Persistent swollen lymph nodes can be an indicator of such? Remember this is an internet forum!!! you will get all kind of answers to your questions. A good GP might ask the same question!

Nothing to do with the the PC. If your WBC count is normal, I think your PCP is right.

Where are you having the CK done?

If nothing changes, I'm scheduled to be in Flushing NY with Dr. Katz next Monday, the 11th, to do preliminaries, and then do the 5 Cyberknife treatments beginning the following Monday, the 18th.

It did first appear about 90 days ago in conjunction with a 2 week head and chest cold. No other noted symptoms since then. I think the blood test my doctor did in March would have been to view the WBC count.

JFL, I did think about deodorants too and whether I had changed something. Stranger things...

Guess the plan will be to check back in with the PCP this week and proceed with the CK as scheduled.
