How dare anyone give you a prognosis like that (unless you asked for a prognosis). Haven't they read about
the nocebo effect? This sort of thing infuriates me. We heard the same garbage last year. Our chart now says, "DO NOT DISCUSS PROGNOSIS." I think a lot of these doctors are angry with their own lives and need to feel powerful. There are two like this at the cancer agency here. (I know two docs there as friends and some of the stories I hear are truly frightening about
the complete mess-up that this institution is—as reported by Gary Mason. They have just hired the third new CEO in three or four years to attempt to sort it out.) All three of our friends given dire prognoses by these two very angry aforementioned doctors are still around and one is currently hiking in Costa Rica. One of the others has lung cancer and has improved greatly since canning his cancer agency doctor seven months ago. So I'd put that thought where it belongs, in the garbage. Susan just asked me to email you a link, which I have done. Hugs to you and Dave.
