This is not a joke. Well it is, but I don't think it was meant as one. Some researchers in Korea wanted to see if playing the sound of flowing water on a mobile phone app increased the flow rate in men with lower urinary tract symptoms.
Mirabile dictu, it did. However, it did not increase the total amount of urine voided, only the rate at which it emptied. So if you want to pee like a racehorse, there's an app for that. Here's my nomination, so far, for the Ig Nobel Prize:
