After 18 monhs on HT with an undetectable PSA and no change in spinal tumor, our doc supports an HT holiday. Happy dance. He suggested a PSA test in three months. Plan to go back on Casodex/Lupron when PSA hits 5 or so. . .(remember Nick started at 147). Doc sez it is typical to be able to be on holiday for as long as he has been on HT. No more hot flashes, fatigue, hairless armpits, extra 10 pounds or indifference to naked women? I am not sure what he is more excited about.

Great news but a word of warning. Paradoixiacally, both Sonny and I experienced some minor hot flashes after we began the IHT.

Here is an update. PSA still undetectable. A couple of friendly wake-up calls from Mr. Wood. And chest air and underarm hair have made an appearance. Nick is still steuggling with weight and the hot flashes continue. It is mostly good!

Congrats to the both of you on the HT break. Congrats on the reappearance on Mr Wood too.

I am currently on an HT break as well. I was on for 12 months and have now been off for 7 months. It is a wonderful thing to be able to enjoy "things" again.

It seemed to me that the drug effects stayed with me, though diminishing, for a few months. At this point I am back to where I was when I began.

Ain't life grand. I hope that your break lasts longer than on schedule did.

Sounds like a great holiday so far!

I can relate to the loss of body hair - lost most of mine with chemo and radiation and ADT have eliminated the rest. Only the hair on my head has made a return. Manscaping the hard way!

I'll be tracking holidays as I look forward to my own. I've got a tentative date of August 2016. Continuous ADT of Casodex and either Firmagon or Lupron has taken its toll since January of 2013 (exception - stopped ADT to deliver rounds of chemotherapy)😁.
