Orgasm Disappointment after Brachtherapy

It's good to have found a site to discuss man issues! Thanks to whoever is offering this service.

I'm 59 years old and had brachytherapy about six weeks ago. My libido has decreased for sure, although I can gain an erection once or twice a week. What I am wondering about though is when I would normally climax and feel orgasm, suddenly just at that point things go kind of numb and nothing much happens but a little trickle of ejaculate. Anybody else experiencing this kind of disappointment, and is it likely to be temporary? (Please tell me YES). I'm taking tamsulosin twice a day and pee about every 2-3 hours at night. Otherwise I've had no pain outside of the sense of swelling with urinary difficulty at night which seems to be easing up.

Helloo Basilpern and welcome to HW. We have a number of members who were brachytherapy patients and they (and others) may weigh in on your questions. Re your loss of libido or erectile function, there should be no impact from the brachy at this point. At some point down the road you may get some ED (about 1/3 of patients do) but that should be helped by viagra, cialis or levitra.

Your loss of ejaculate may be as a result of the flomax or your procedure. Most of us brachy patients have some reduced ejaculate. I would say that I now have about 25% or less of what I used to have - but sex still has the same feeling.

Flomax is also known to have adverse sexual side effects in some men and that may be the culprit. The only SE of Flomax for me was a little light headedness but others report different effects. How long will your doc keep you on this? Many of us wean off at the 3 month mark; some a little before.

I can tell you that I had a bit of a libido problem for a while after my 'seeding', but for whatever reason, that is no longer a problem. Orgasms are usually more intense than ever, but forget the ejaculate. I have little or none.

basil: Flomax can cause different issues for each patient. While i was weaning off i had retrograde ejaculations that were painful and nearly dry. Now, there is no pain and sauce level is better than 50% of normal.

i believe that your normal sensations will return along with some emission. Hang in there and keep us posted.

Only issue I had with orgasms post-seeding was occasional pain - no libido issues, no erection issues.

Basilperm...in my case, the loss of ejaculate sure seems to be permanent. I had a combination of brachytherapy (HDR) and IMRT so a slight different situation than you. I never had any problems on the erection side of things, but I was also on HT so that pretty much killed my libido so while the equipment worked, I had no inclination to use it.

I had my brachy 2+ years ago and I've been off of Rapiflo for about two years. For what it means, I had a high risk diagnosis and I'm doing great. Hope you do so as well!

I have similar symptoms. No problem getting and maintaining erection. However, there isn't much feeling of orgasm any more.

I'm seven months out from HDR and everything is better with time. I went through the no ejaculate, bloody ejaculate, painful ejaculate and probably something else as well.

Now, I have half the ejaculate as before but the feeling is much better.

Lately I've been having delayed ejaculate (like 10-15 minutes later) (weird). Seeds still doing their thing I guess.
