Hi,

I am coming to this forum because I am in need of help. I am hoping that my first post asking for help will not put anyone off. Also, I apologize if my replies are slow as I am not a very skilled typist any longer due to arthritis


Recently, I have lost my job meaning that along with my termination came the loss of my health insurance. An ex-coworker gave me a coupon code for an online pharmacy so i can order Flomax online for half off but I don't know anything about generic medication. Can someone please help? I've fallen on very tough financial times and I know that ordering medication online isn't the smartest thing but I don't have another option and I would be paying half price. I am desperate. Please, can someone tell me if generics are as effective as regular meds? this is where I am ordering the medicine if it helps (link removed by moderator)

Having used Flomax, Doxazosin (generic), and Terazosin (generic) I can honestly say that I've found them all to be equally effective.

(Jim, I understand your concerns about online pharmacies and hope I'm not overstepping my bounds here, but my post was solely in the interest of helping this man.)

I've had both Flomax and tamsulosin, which is its generic equivalent. I found them to be equal. I found Rapaflo worked better for me.

When you have a change in your employment situation, you are qualified to get insurance under the Affordable Care Act, which you can sign up for at /www.healthcare.gov/ or through your state exchange, if there is one. If your expected income this year is below their threshold, you may qualify for a subsidy.

Have you had or been diagnosed with prostate cancer?

It helps get more responses if you add a subject.

You might want to try googling for a site called GoodRx. It is a pharmacy price comparison tool that will find the best prices for drugs in your area. I did a search for my area and found that Walmart had the best price -- 19.00 for a 30 day supply. I think you need to print out a card so the pharmacy knows you got the price from GoodRx. I think you will be surprised by the difference in the prices even at your local brick-and-mortar pharmacy stores.
