It's been about
7 weeks since my mri and I am finally having my biopsy tomorrow. I'm starting to get nervous. Not really wanting to eat today for a few reasons. Want to be clean tomorrow to cut down risk of infection and also don't want to crap tomorrow. Thinking it's gonna hurt. Sure praying it's not cancer, but is it ever anything else? My mri results said 3 lesions highly suspected of cancer.

Hang in there. The biopsy isn't fun, but it's not that painful. If you haven't already, get a fleet enema and use that before you go in. That will help clean things out.
Let us know how it goes.

DC, hope all goes well.
If it is cancer, don't despair, you'll get through this. This is my first post but I read a lot from this site. The stories and guys are great and supportive.
My advice is to keep breathing and don't concentrate on what's happening behind you. The Doc will let you know what to expect and when he is taking a core sample.
My wife sat in front of me during the biopsy and I'm so grateful she was there to hold my hand and talk to me.

DC - My husband had his biopsy on 7/9. He was very apprehensive -- oh who am I kidding, he was downright scared. Afterwards, he said the worst part was getting the antibiotic shot in his butt cheek. His actual biopsy was not painful. He was sore for a couple of days, but was right back to work the day after.
Some good advice we got here was to get some extra strength Tylenol and to take one before the car ride home. (Check with your doc on this first; ours said it was fine.) Steve took one regular Tylenol while I went to get the car. The local started to wear off during the drive home, so this helped. Once we got home, he ate a light lunch and took a Tylenol PM, and slept the rest of the afternoon.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers tomorrow.

Heh - they gave me propofol before the biopsy so I wasn't really there for it until the ride home....good luck!

Glad the procedure went well for you and hope that the Tylenol keeps you comfortable.
Not sure where you had your BX, but you should be able to get your results this week.
Continue to wish you well.

I had it done at the cincinnati va hospital. They said could take 7 days. I'm actually kind of hoping it does. My son gets married Saturday. Hate to have to hide that from everyone all weekend.

DC: Hope it comes out well. Not a pleasnat experience, but sounds like it's necessary. Keep us informed. You don't have to go through it alone. I had it done 7/2/15 and still recovering. These guys helped me through it. J Hall

Gross question but has anyone had bowel issues with the biopsy? It's wed night and I haven't been since Monday morning. Tried today but all I got was a few pebbles and blood. Still passing blood too. Spent my lunch break researching non cancerous lesions today☺ holding out hope.

call your doctor.
Passing blood is still a little normal. Constipation shouldn't be an issue.
Are you on an anti-biotic or any pain meds?

They gave me two pills to take. One that night and one the next morning. I just took some fiber. Hopefully that will kick in over night. Only took a few tylenol.

Praise the lord!! Dr called today and said my 18 cores showed no sign of cancer. Didn't say what it was, just said they will check my psa every 6 months and go from there. He said I can start back on testosterone but I'm not sure about
that. Now we can enjoy our sons wedding on Saturday.

Congratulations on your son's wedding! And, in case you were not briefed, don't worry about
some blood in your urine and really godawful looking ejaculate (bright and bloody at first, then rust colored later). That will go away in a couple of weeks...but it's a good way to terrify yourself and your wife if you weren't aware of it.

That's great to hear. Good to hear your doc is going to be proactive and start watching things for a while.
