My dad is sick

Dad has stage 4 adenovarcinoma of the lower esophagus metastatic to the liver. The prognosis is dismal. I am worried for mom and was hoping she might join the caregivers corner despite diagnosis

Your mom would be most welcome on the caregivers thread. I know the women will be warm and welcoming and kind to her.
That's a hard diagnosis and I'm sure your family is still in shock.

I am so sorry that your family has to deal with cancer once again! There are quite a few of us whose husband's currently have liver mets, and while esophageal cancer is a different animal, our hopes, fears and angst are the same. I hope your mom will join us.

I'm sorry to read of your dad's cancer and can remember what it feels like when someone first
gets that kind of news. Hug each other tightly and love to your whole family.

Terrible news, so very sorry to hear.

All I can think to add is that you will be well equipped to help him in many ways, because of the experience that you yourself have gained in your own journey with the cancer beast, and the knowledge that it has given you.

I have always believed that, in some way, probably a way we don't yet fully understand, it is truly possible for a person to transmit energy and strength to a loved one just by being there, and communicating it to that loved one on some special, spiritual level.

I believe that you will know how to do that, and that your dad will get a ton of it from you.

I saw dad today. He looks a lot better. Mom took my advice and started feeding him protein drinks and fruit smoothies. I gave him a pep talk and he seems prepared for battle. Thank you for the prayers and the kind words. Dad has a tough road ahead but he seems focussed and in a good frame of mind.
