a GOOD FRIEND WHO KNOWS MY SITUATION ASKED ME FOR ADVICE. HE HAS A PSA OF 3.53 AND A GLEASON OF 4.

HE'S about 68

A PSA of up to 4.0 is considered normal for a 60 year old, as I recall, so his 3.53 doesn't sound that dire. I'm not sure I understand the Gleason score. It is usually written as the sum of two numbers. From your signature yours was Gleason 7(3+4) after your RRP. I don't know what to make of a Gleason 4. Nothing less than Gleason 6 is ever reported these days.

Is there some reason why your friend is worried?

Epstein has a new grading system that goes from 1-5, which is roughly equivalent to Gleason scores 3+3, 3+4, 4+3, 8, and (9 or 10). So the new grade 4 is equal to Gleason score of 8. Maybe he's referring to those grades?

My friend is vague about it. He also says he is taking testosterone, which is jet fuel to PC, so I'm not sure what to make of any of it.

I asked him to send me a copy of the Drs. Gleason Scoring.

His MAIN problem is that he might get wet pants. He's talking about the Dr. wanting to give him Chemo, which makes no sense to me.
