I apologize for posting in this forum, but I dont know where else to post and I'm scared.

My father recently found blood when he urinated. They did a ct scan and found a stone in his bladder along w/ what doctors think is a tumor. My father was a smoker for 35+ years, no alcohol.

the only other symptom he complained of was thirsty and frequent urination at night.

I'm very scared for him, what are the chances of it being benign vs malignant? and how treatable is it? thanks very much

I would do a google search for "Bladder Cancer Canada". Its much like this place, knowledgeable and helpful.

I am lucky enough to be a survivor of BOTH bladder cancer and prostate cancer. Had surgical treatment for both ... and am doing fine.

Billo,

Bladder cancer was my father's fifth cancer, I believe. He has had an artificial bladder for several years and a permanent catheter and bag.

It sucks for sure, but he is still alive at 82. The cancer returned to his brain about five years later.

I had a tumor in my bladder discovered by ultrasound when I was being DX for prostate cancer.The urologist told me the main cause is smoking but said we will remove the tumor in me and that should be that. Tumor was removed through my penis it was a simple operation.The only down side is I have to have a Cystoscope every 12 mth's as they have a high incidence of regrowing.

I am a survivor of Prostate cancer also and spent many hours on this forum to which it helped immensely .

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer this June after about a month or more of blood particles in the urine,I thought it might be a UTI and treated it with cranberry juice and antibiotics but it came back,I checked with the Dr and he sent me to a UROLOGIST. I went to tucc which is The Urology Center of Colorado, THE WERE GREAT! They did all the testing ect in about 2-1/2 hours and had a plan before I went home, this did not happen before when I had PC, it took weeks to get the same thing done.They did the scope up the penis and there it was ,any ugly tumor, Dr said it was cancer as soon as he saw it,then I had a c-scan and ultra sound all with -in an hour or so,all tests done at the same site these were done to see if it had spread which it had not.I was scheduled for a TURBT which is surgery thru the penis to remove it with 2 weeks! I had the surgery tumor removed and now recovering getting over a catheter for 6 days and the blood in urine ,all else is doing good! I have to have a cytoscope every 3 months,to make sure if it comes back we can catch it early which in this case if it had not bleed i would still have it. This was the only forum I could find talk about this for bladder cancer so maybe ,could their be a forum added to this site for BLADDER CANCER? If I can help anyone answering any questions I would be glad to !Thanks for the time.
