Decision made

Well I have finally made a decision on my Tx for PC. After seeing my 6th specialist I am going with radiation. EBRT with seeds placed as markers.
It hasn't been easy, as anyone who has had to make a choice will know. I feel confident in my decision and will live by that, good or bad.

I have found it interesting reading the various post one Tx verses another and could have chosen any Tx and I probably will be cured.

Initial I saw a surgeon and he recommended Divinci, I never felt comfortable with this due to my age and having to live with the side effects. Saw an oncologist he recommended surgery, although Bracky was an option. Also saw another surgen (open surgery guy) and he supported any treatment, which was refreshing. My latest visit to another oncologist has made me choose EBRT, Bracky was an option, but she ( yes a Lady) recommended EBRT due to me being a Gleason 7.

My father had this Tx so I know what I'm in for. I never felt comfortable with surgery due to the side effects and stories or guys needing radiation after surgery anyway.

Anyway thought this might interest some one in the decision phase.

Went through all of your angst making a decision. We saw 2 different surgeons, 2 different RO and an MO.
Finally decided that RT was the best. You will do fine. I have had no side effects from the radiation. Don't know if they will put you on HT with RT. Usually is the protocol. It's not too bad here either. Very tolerable. I have about 8 mo of HT left.
You will do fine with your decision.

Totally understand. I researched all options, visited with URO, oncologists, radiologists, and several other doctors until I reached the decision that was right for me. Once I did it was just a sigh of relief to know I had made the decision that I felt the best about. Best of luck as you continue on the journey!
