Cialis Treatment Benefits?

Hi. I'm a year and a half out from surgery now, and still having an absolute ED problem. A few weeks ago, at an appointment with my uro, he said we're going to try something new and gave me 7 10mg (I think they were 10 mg...could be wrong about that) Cialis pills, to be followed by 30 consecutive days of 5 mg Cialis. I'm about halfway thru the supply of pillls and while I can't say I've had an erection, things have been livelier below the belt than at any time since the surgery.

He's basically said, though, that if this doesn't lead to erections, then it's time to think about injections. I'm not convinced I want to deal with "injection erections," and now in her 60's, my wife isn't losing any sleep over the lack of actual intercourse.

I remain hopeful, but not overly optimistic, that this is going to work.

I think there's nothing wrong with the dosage you're taking at your stage of recovery. I'm a little surprised that your family doctor was unaware of Cialis, Levitra, and Viagra being used therapeutically to promote blood flow and healing. I would think that would be fairly common knowledge.

You may want to study up on Penile Rehabilitation. Low dose PDE5 inhibitors are used extensively as part of Penile Rehab.

Dr. Mulhall's book, Saving Your Sex Life, goes into detail on the use of pills for penile rehab. You can also do a google search of his name and penile rehab and find videos on the subject

I am 6+ months out of surgery. Both urologists, (The surgeon, and my 'regular' urologist) recommend the cialis route. I get the 20's and cut them into quarters (also insurance reasons). I also pump, and release for about 15 minutes 3-5 times a week. Over the past month, I have seen great improvement (not quite ready for prime time, but encouraging), Not sure if its the C, the pump, or plain old 'time', or a combination of the three. (PS, I had both nerves spared.

I'm 15 months out of surgery and have been getting natural erections and night erections for a while now. I attribute this to many things, including my immediate use of Cialis for rehab purposes and my daily practices one month out of surgery. I was doing 20mg every 36 hours pretty much.

I am 18 months post RRP. Partial erections started at 12 months and have been getting steadily better. Today, with the help of 20mg cialis, I was able to have spontaneous sex for the first time. The erection was still not full but very useable. By spontaneous I mean that it was the result of normal foreplay whilst stood up. Its a slow process of recovery and I am hoping I will see further improvement as I move towards the 2 year mark.

5 mil a day and it does the trick. I'm 7 months out from surgery(all nerves saved) I have backed off the Cialis to see what would happen and the results were not good. It's still early so I'm sticking to the Cialis. My Uro also gave me a free pack of 20mil. which I have'nt used yet. I wonder if it's ok to use a 20 mil one day while on the 5mil a day. My Uro has been great.... still have'nt paid a dime yet, keeps giving me samples to use.  

As one member has already suggested, you should read Dr. John Mulhall's book "Saving Your Sex Life". You can also check it out from many public libraries. Another option is to google Dr.John Mulhall and utube together. He has several speeches that have been uploaded.

I take a cialis and lavitra. It depends what I'm in the mood for. I'm almost six months post RP surgery right now. I use the lavitra before the trimix to reduce the dosage and thus reduce the ache I get from it. I'm one of the few that get an ache from trimix but I have worked it down till it is tolerable now. Many doctors don't want you doing that because you might get a trip to the er from a priapism, but I have my dosages of trimix down to 3.5 units of a reduced dose of trimx(half the normally prescribed strength of trimix). It gives me 45 minutes of sex and goes flaccid in 1.5 hours. My euro perscribed 5mg of cialis every other day but I really take them on nights that I don't inject. The injections really give you a rock hard erection that helps to prevent penile shrinkage, get some fresh blood into your penis, and have some great sex at the same time. The cialis helps to get fresh blood into the penis at night even if you only get a little swollen. I saw some minor action when I first started taking a pde5 inhibitor early on. I've been getting swelling quite regularly when I awaken from REM sleep even without a pde5 in my system. Last night I took 5mg of cialis and got my first penetrable nocturnal piece of wood. That was encouraging.

I would take a low dose everynight if affordable and a low dose every other night even if I couldn't afford it for penile rehab. Get on injections in the mean time too. It isn't as bad as you think. I hope to keep using them even if I become a good pill responder. They are cheaper in my case and I don't get the facial flushy side effect from injections. You do get a prolonged erection that takes a while to go away. I found a controlled but quick insertion of the needle works best for me. Less pain and better results. I believe injections help to wake the nerves up myself.

I thought I would also edit this in: about once a month I take a full dose of lavitra or viagra and the wife and I engage in foreplay. At first there was nothing. It seemed like it was dead. Last week I took 5mg of cialis at bedtime and the next day I took a full 100mg of viagra. With some foreplay I was about 50% erect. It wasn't penetrable but it was very encouraging. Ed is something you have to work at.

I was able to get around the 8 pills per refill limit by going to their website and looking at the different dosages. My prescription plan pharmacy (express scripts) will do scrips for 2.5 mg cialis for daily use, so I had my Uro do a scrip for 2.5 mg twice a day...and they filled it. I get 180 2.5 mg pills every 90 days.

There is more than one way to skin a cat. At least sometimes.

I, like many others, note that cialis daily also helps with continence.

Cialis is hard for me to cut into quarters with that particular shape, maybe my generic source is slightly different quality although it seems to work fine.

I use a balance ( scale 0.005 gram resolution ) called "My weigh i101" and put the resulting amount in a empty clear "cap m quik."

I originally obtained these for other reasons. With these, I am able to do several weeks worth at a time instead of trying to cut individually.

Accuracy has to be better than just guessing, but I will warn you just breathing or walking nearby will cause +/- .005 gram fluctuations in reading. At this point, I just get between +/- .005 and figure that is close enough.

Thought this may help someone who is splitting them.

Nerve saving/sparing?

What does it really mean and how can you verify that nerves have been spared? I hear often of men who had nerves spared, sometimes both sets, and they are still experiencing full ED 12-18 months hence. Results like these do make me question the “nerve sparing” protocol.

Costs of drugs

I've had “Good” recovery after month 18, its almost spontaneous and rigid enough for penetration. I might use Viagra on the odd occasion, or even Trimix ( < .12cc) for staying power. I'm using Viagra instead because its cheap in OZ (12 x 100mg Viagra for $AUD30.00). Viagra is off-patent in Australia! The Cialis 5mg for 28 costs around $AUD160.00, which was not very economical. My Uro prescribes Viagra because its affordable.
