I had SRT 74Gy, 40 fractions IMRT with no gold markers..I guess the target area was big enough so they didn't need them. Recently, I had another 34 GY in 5 fractions to the T10 vertebra of my spine using SBRT (same RO) The newest LINACs can be configured to deliver both types of radiation. When in the SBRT mode, the beam is very tightly focused and precisely controlled.. Zapping mets on vertebra is tricky business because of the proximity of the spinal cord..Any mistakes here can cause severe injury, the RO's biggest nightmare...
