Steve had his fifth treatment today. The sixth and final treatment is scheduled for Monday morning.
So far, we have not had any serious problems, but this also has not been a walk in the park. Most noticeable side effect has been the consuming fatigue. Being a person who is constantly on the move and who likes to get things done, Steve has been challenged by the fatigue. He does best when he plans for a post-treatment nap and then does not overdo things on his "off treatment" days.
There has only been one "urgency" issue that caused a bit of a problem. It occurred on treatment day #4, which was also a day that Steve skipped the nap. He reported it to the Clinic on the day it happened and had three follow up calls within the next 12 hours, so there must have been some concern. We have an "exit interview" of sorts with our RO after the final treatment on Monday and will find out what they are thinking. Baring any issues, we won't see the RO for 8 weeks which is when we'll get the first post-treatment PSA.
I've encouraged Steve to post his first hand experience as it could be of value to others considering SBRT. Hopefully, he will do that soon.
