Very interesting. When my husband and I met with his surgeon (Dr. Patel in Celebration Fl who has done over 7000 robotic surgeries) we asked for his perspective on the future, especially for our son. His comment: your son is 29 now. By the time he might be diagnosed (in his 40's at earliest) they'll treat him with a vaccine. That gave us a great deal of comfort. What a difference in just 10 years since the way my father-in-law was treated for prostate cancer.

Thanks for the article. This particular vaccine sounds like it would be quite a few years away from approval. I hope it pans out.

Yes unfortunately for some It may be some years before it's ready.

Going on 8 years and have heard this many times

Still have hope it may not take that long. It's in stage 1 and 2 trials.

This is an old thread but here is some more info on this clinical trial currently recruiting patients in Dallas, TX and San Diego CA. I've been told that Boston, MA will be an additional location starting in late spring/early summer 2016.

The vaccine permanently kills cancer cells and has no effect on normal cells with virtually none of the usual side effects of radiation or surgery. Seems I fit within the entry criteria and I'm considering applying for the Boston trial. I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this.

Just imagine, this will wipe out the entire PC money making infrastructure, so they will either fight it or delay it. Urologists and oncologists wil see a steep decline in profits but this is life.

Sadly, you're probably right. I have a meeting next week with a radiation oncologist and a surgical oncologist at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia to discuss treatment options. It will be interesting to hear their take on this new development.

Yes, that is correct. In fact up to 4 injections into the prostate at 6-week intervals.

Like so many, my worst fears, is that there has been significate cancer curing and prevention discoveries over the past 50 years of effort. Money, has pushed those advancements under the table.

Think about it, we can send men to the moon, drop a bomb on a street sign 5,000 miles away and process millions of computer analysis/computations in a minute.

The technology to find a cure was here several years ago, the money machine is the controlling factor.

I pray someone, will make the real cancer knowledge public and stop the unnecessary loss of lives.

Many of us have suffered and some died to make this a reality for the future. That is some good because the rather large number of us in the PC club has impacted the rush for ways to treat PC.
