It was four years ago March that I completed my radiation treatments. So far things are going well. The side effects are manageable and my quality of life is great. I've been happy with my treatment choice.

Even though I didn't grow the extra arm the doc promised. X-ray vision hasn't started either.

Side effects so far have been some radiation proctitis, urinary urgency, mild ED (treatable with pills), low-T, an intolerance for idiots and tendency to write poetry. Plus an increased desire to drink wine and eat cheese.

Still I manage to get into the workshop to make things.

For those of you just starting down this awful journey, know that there is always hope.

Congratulations!! Had my four years of undetectable PSA in February and there is no better feeling than being able to put this whole thing further behind. I had surgery, so that explains why I don't write poetry or even like wine. I have found that I have a desire to rent and watch any movies that have robots in them. Continued good health in the future.

Congrats, Andrew; glad you're doing well. We "primary radiation" folks share a common mindset that's a little different from the surgery folks. Not better or worse, just a different set of follow-on concerns, eventual side effects, and so on.

It's interesting to observe these anniversaries. Wednesday marks the "official" end of my hormone therapy, as the last 4 month shot reaches its expiration. Another milestone on this long road. Actual recovery from that aspect of treatment will take much longer, perhaps very much longer.

I like your poetry, and I've always liked wine and cheese! Idiots are becoming an ever greater problem for me...

Funny post. Always nice to hear good news. You have been a long time member. I've followed your posts and encouragement over the years and have always found you to be above the fray, positive and supportive of everyone, give good advice, enjoy life, and have a good sense of humor.

Hi Andrew, good news indeed. Hope you have many, many more zeros in your future.

Given that I only had local doses of radiation, it's only junior that glows in the dark for me. It saves me the trouble of turning on the light when I get up at night to use the bathroom. Or maybe that light I see is from the another source and I've heard my wife say, "the old fool is peeing in the refrigerator again".
