Need advice please

I have not posted much on this site but have read a lot of the comments and have appreciated the advice that was given. Now I am so lost and I don't know what to do now. My husband was diagnosed with G9 stage 3a prostate cancer about a year and 1/2 ago. We did not know his prostate cancer was so advanced until after surgery. Since then he has had radiation and has been on Lupron. A few weeks ago he started to have leg pain and weakness. I thought maybe it was the Lupron or maybe his MS as he also been diagnosed with that. The neurologist ordered an MRI for his lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine. We just got the results and he was told that his lumbar spine is fine but he has generalized spinal marrow signal change which may represent a marrow reconversion process versus marrow replacement disorder. The report stated there is diffuse loss of the normal T1 and T2 marrow signal throughout the cervical and thoracic spine. The doctor said my husband needed more follow up. I am not sure what this means but to me it means that there maybe some cancer in his bone marrow. His last PSA was >.05 so I thought things were in the clear for now. Has anyone else heard of this. Is it as bad as it sounds??

That doesn't sound like a typical PC diagnosis. PC causes bone overgrowth, rather than marrow changes.

Hello Mrs JBart62. I would concur with Tall Allen that they are talking about something unrelated to his PCa.
I would think that if they were speaking about Big C, they would be more targeted in their references to the anomoly they can see on the imaging.
With that nice low PSA, Mrs JBArt62, you should be able to be feel confident that his PCa is under control.

It's a shot in the dark, but I do know that hormone therapy can screw up the blood cells, often leading to anemia.

Whether this has anything to do with your situation, I don't know, but ask the oncologist if the HT might be causing some of these issues.
