I'm very sorry to hear about
where you and family are. My father had your fathers path. From this point forward, lack of time is your worst enemy. I say this, because the situation can hit a point before you know it, where he's not fully there. And he will not come back as before. Talk and hold him often, capture every thought and guester by him.
We know not why, things happen the way they do. As you have done, fight for what you and family can do. Others here, have more input for what he can do for his condition. I can only say, spend every moment you can with your dad.
