4 Days post 2nd round of Taxotere

As I posted earlier, I had my second round of Tax last Wednesday.

Well things are running true to form for me so far. I was totally jazzed up on the Dex for Wed, Thur and Friday. Saturday was my relaxation day, so I sat in the chair and watched the college softball Super Regionals all day.

Today I am back to normal with loads of energy. I am cooking for the family today (12) and feeling good.

No other side effects have shown up yet besides the hair loss on top of my head. Shaved that sucker so there is no worries.

Sonny before you shaved your head were you having scalp pain? My husband complains that his scalp feels so painful like needle pricks all over. He has used the clippers and trimmed it down as short as he can and has wondered if it would feel better shaved. He had his second treatment of taxotere last Monday...not doing quite as well as you but better than he thought. Wednesday and Thursday are the worst-feeling pretty crummy with severe fatigue, some diarrhea and food not tasting normal. I think the scalp pain bothers him more than anything.

My head was and is not itching. I have fairly dry skin and scalp so I have been applying a moisturizer with a SPF 60 sun block. My head hasn't seen direct sunlight since I was shaved in boot camp and that was 50 years ago. So I am not taking any chances and especially with the warnings about sun with chemo thrown in.

Assuming the side effects remain good and the blood metrics are in range, what is your schedule?

6 Treatments?

As I recall they are due to attend the week we both have our 68th birthday in August.
