BTW, Jim/Tudpock, it is appreciated—particularly now that most states (more than half) have legalized some form of cannabis—that some discourse on the topic is more leniently viewed here at HW/PC, thereby allowing the forum to keep up with the times...
Knowing that we have members here at HW/PC who are patients who have suffered from the horrific side-effects of chemo and are using cannabis, and having witnessed my spouse suffer through similar late-stage cancer/chemo effects, I don't take this topic light-heartedly.
I did think it was goofy to start a thread at a cancer support site with a study about
a possible link of strokes with recreational marijuana use among younger adults with high overall illicit drug usage rates...and especially to infer it was relevant/important/valuable to those at this site using cannabis to relieve chemo effects. The inference in the OP seemed, to me, to be, "you better think twice..."
Actually, I thought it was worse than just "goofy," but my intent was to attack the notion that it was relevant at this site...and not to attack the person who posted it. I think it was relevant like a flea on an elephant is relevant, and ultimately it was an insult to chemo sufferers. I offer my apology if fellow members interpreted my original posts as a personal attack. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to go back and clean-up what I originally wrote. Thanks, again, Jim/Tudpock for the tolerance and wise restraint you showed by not locking the thread.
A more appropriate link to post at this site might be one like this Newsweek article, titled "
MARIJUANA IS A WONDER DRUG WHEN IT COMES TO THE HORRORS OF CHEMO, which can be found here:
