Greetings,

I posted awhile back, a thread about my PSA becoming detectable 3 years after RP. It went to .3. I was told to have it checked again in 5 to 6 weeks. It went down to a .2. Great news! Hopefully it will continue to go down before my next test in 3 months. I don't know why it went down, or for that matter why it went up. I am suspicious of a steroid treatment, that my local doctor prescribed for some back pain I was having just prior to the test at the end of May???? I asked my urologist if that would cause it, and he said no. I've done research and found out that perhaps steroids could cause an elevated PSA, but nothing about after the prostate is removed. Anyway, I am so thrilled that I don't have to start HT,(knock on wood) for now. Thanks for all the support we all receive here. Phil

Its happened here often since Ive been on the forum...the patients do not post here any more...hopefully they have gone on with their lives ...One was a woman named Sephie and it happen to here husband... there have been others

Update.
Just had my PSA tested at 3 months. It is Back to undetectable. I am to have it checked again in 3 more months. I hope it stays undetectable.

Thanks for coming back with this update, 10drum. We newbies often see the shouts of anguish when things look strange but unless you veterans come back to help us understand how these things often settle down, we get the feeling that every bump leads over the cliff.

Yay!......................... There are 2 threads going right now where rising PSAs turned around and went the other way, and is it a separate thread where doubling time increased greatly(a good thing). May it be that way for all of us for the next 20-30 years. Congratulations!
