Cialis

A question for those who were prescribed a daily dose Cialis following surgery. Did you begin taking it right away, or did you wait?

I started about 6 weeks post-op. The surgeon wanted me to take it earlier, but I had to seek insurance approval. By the way, my prescription plan did not cover the cost, ans it ain't cheap. So, I went out of the country to get it.

Watch out for immediate side affects. I had really bad leg cramps. The kind that kept me up all night. I had to ween myself on Cialis at my surgeons guidance. I took 1/2 5mg pill every other day for two weeks, then every day for 2 weeks then back to the normal strength of 1 5mg pill daily every day.

I am 5 months post op and so far the cialis is not working for ED. It is supposedly working by enhancing the healing process by bring more blood supply to the surgical area. I have just started experimenting with 1 20MG dose of Cialis on Friday night and back on the 5mg on Monday-Fri AM. This again, is under the guidance of my surgeon.

I started the day after the cath came out with 5mg. Like Jay I got cramps, racing heartbeat etc from the first dose. I also had to "ween" myself onto it by gradually increasing the dose to 5mg per day.

I started seeing some results at about 4 weeks post surgery. Doc said OK to encourage things but no penetration or climax until at least 6 weeks. At 6 weeks I saw about 50%. At 10 or 12 weeks I could get to 100% but it would only last a few minutes. I'm 21 months post surgery and still take and need 5mg per day (generic) but thankfully it works for me. So be patient. ED and incontinence recovery really varies by individual.

You can get a coupon from the doc or the Cialis website for a free 30 day supply and see if it looks like it's going to work for you and that you can tolerate taking it. If you Email some of the members (can't talk about it on the forums) I or someone will point you to a place you can find it cheaper.

Here in France, the protocol is Edex injections twice per week. They started me on those at about 8 weeks post RALP. I asked in a follow-up about Cialis (because I don't like Edex and I was hoping that I'd be given an alternative). Instead I've been given an optional script for Cialis 5 mg per day to be taken IN ADDITION. It worked for me (night-time erections!), but I disliked the side-effects so have stopped. My heart rate and blood pressure both became elevated. This was a problem because I'm a runner. I was told by the doctor that I had to watch for VO2 max when running, because I'd hit it faster - and boy did I. Then I had a couple of incidents - not while running - where I felt dizzy and as if I were blacking out. That was enough for me. I'm sticking with the Edex only.
