Penis size

My husband is on hormone treatment, and has had both High dose radiation (Brachytherapy), and External Beam radiation.  Prior to this he had a TURP.

Today, he was bemoaning the fact that his penis has shrunk so much he has trouble finding it to pee (and usually pees on his feet or floor).  He was half joking, half serious.     I said that when the hormone treatment stops, perhaps things will get back to normal size.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Does penis size generally go back to pre-hormone/radiation times?

I can't answer your question about size reduction from HT. However, I can offer a suggestion about the peeing on the floor issue.
Post surgery mine was so short it looked like an "innie". The pee ran down my scrotum and actually ended up behind me. Try explaining THAT to your wife.
To mitigate the the problem I started peeing into a red Solo Cup. It works great. We always keep one handy on the back of the toilet.

I underwent robotic prostatectomy on 9/26. Based on all the research I did prior to surgery, I wanted to revisit the forums as a living proof example. It was very depressing when researching the penis size reduction opinions and results. So for those of you looking for positive outcomes, I submit that there was NO reduction in penis length for me.

My (fantastic) surgeon prescribed 30 day Cilalis for optimizing blood flow and overall recovery. I am still experiencing stress incontinence two months later, however, via exploring with a willing partner, I can get to full erection and have an orgasm (not too bad, I might add). So please, stay positive and try to avoid some, that may be seeking to make an already tough situation worse.

Apologies if seeming accusatorial, but I've seen some pretty brutal posts out there.

I lost at least an inch after my robotic surgery. Of course my oncology radiologist said, "we do not shorten penises." Of course I said it was smaller and you can see that it is pulled in. He said that removing the prostate requires the penis to be pulled upward, but it is the same length. My reply is that if you have 2 ten foot posts, one is buried 2 feet deep and the other buried 4 feet deep, one would say that one post is shorter then the other. That is what happens during prostatectomy.

i am not going to go into lot of detail, but yes, it does happen.

This theory does not make much anatomic sense as the urethra is tethered to the pelvic muscles. The urethra cannot get pulled much in either direction, limiting its ability to shorten the penis.

I has read many posts regarding penis shortening after RALP prior to deciding the have RALP myself. I used a tape measure and measured before surgery and after surgery. There is no difference when fully erect. With the VED I can actually get more length and girth than "normal" erections pre and post surgery but it's not as hard as a "normal" erection.

Yes it is way shorter. I lost 2 inches. Had RALP on November 2nd. Rest of penis is hidden in my body so when peeing urine goes down my scrotum. Prior to surgery my urologist mentioned that at the most it could be shorter up to 1cm which is less than 1/2inch.
Totaly, not thru. Everything what I heard from Uro was heavily sugar coated.
We pay them well for butchering job.
I wish all urologist to undergo RALP one day to experience all bad that most of us have to deal with just to mention incontinece, shorter penis, ED etc.

That is one thing I noticed after surgery, the pubic fascia prior to surgery was tight. After surgery the same area is puffier and not attached to underlying structures. At first I thought it was edema, but after time it never went away and probably gotten a little more flabby.

Interesting, I have the same symptoms. Is it not a form of mild edema? My gets worse when I exercise and better when I rest.

My penis length is exactly the same as before surgery. Here is an article about the size subject. Only a small group of men—roughly 5%—had a persistent loss in that study.

I have a feeling that group of 5% is much larger than that.
Some may not be admitting to having a smaller willy.
I don't care, I'll admit it.

Yeah, 1-1/2" here. You have to be careful when you sit though. Instead of a natural downward aim the default is straight ahead between the bowl and the seat. Runs on the floor if I get lazy even though I'm sitting down.

To this day Uro says shortening and peyronies isn't from the surgery. What? It just happened to coincide with having a surgery where a couple of inches of my urethra was cut out ?
