An interesting new paper finding PNI associated with metastatic. lethal prostate cancer without regard to clinical factors. At Uro Today. Search "PNI".

I can't locate this new paper using Google search "PNI Uro Today". Can you provide a link?

The only study on PNI that I've seen lately was this one:

They said it was not an independent risk factor for men on watchful waiting in the Swedish study, but it was an independent risk factor for men who had surgery in the US Health Professionals tracking study. I assume it was biopsy detected in the watchful waiting study and pathology-detected in the surgery study. There have been a lot of equivocal findings across several other studies. Most find a lack of independent risk.

Sure it's more prevalent in aggressive cancer...lethal is hype...that's why it's prognostic in biopsy...and not in post op pathology when margins/epe are negative....non surgery...all bets are off...can cancer escape via pni with perfect pathology...any things possible. ...could be squeezed out in anal sex...prostrate massage...biopsy needle leaks...das why you have dem pesky psa tests post tx...no trials or studies have suggested those avenues... to my knowledge...when n if you look read study to see u ain't doing the apple/orange schtic....any monkee can do dat...ok dat is my final word on pni... no mo...discipline...bolo...discipline...

In case anyone else wants to look up the article, the position of articles on urotoday.com changes rapidly and the article is no longer at the location mentioned in JayMot's post, but I eventually found it and it is the same article for which Tall Allen provided a link. Although the article sits behind a paywall, it appears that AACR will provide a free copy of the article to patients upon request. Wish more journals would do that!
