Biopsy, sites and cores

My husband did a MRI fusion biopsy on 3/9, the result came back all negative. The urologist told us he did 8 biopsy ( and the nurse told us the same thing) . We received the report by mail today that there were 14 sites taken and 20 cores. Does anyone know is there any difference between biopsy and sites? Why the urologist told us there were 8 biopsy taken and the report indicated 14 sites? Is there any procedure that we don't understand or they messed it up with another's negative report? And also, it doesn't look like a fusion target biopsy to me. I know I might sound crazy and I can call the urologist next Monday.....but I highly appreciate if I can get an answer here from anyone who knows. Thanks.

The uro called this morning. This is his explanation for us:
He did 8 cores on the 2 suspicious areas and that was what he told us after the biopsy.
He also did a 12-core scattered biopsy as his standard. That makes up for a total of 20 cores and 14 sites.
The lab probably mislabeled one of the 8 cores as one from the scattered biopsy. So instead of 12+8 cores, it becomes 13+7. Since all cores are negative, it really makes no different. BTW, the 8 and 12 core samples must be sent in the same containers, or the insurance will be charged twice.
