The uro called this morning. This is his explanation for us:
He did 8 cores on the 2 suspicious areas and that was what he told us after the biopsy.
He also did a 12-core scattered biopsy as his standard. That makes up for a total of 20 cores and 14 sites.
The lab probably mislabeled one of the 8 cores as one from the scattered biopsy. So instead of 12+8 cores, it becomes 13+7. Since all cores are negative, it really makes no different. BTW, the 8 and 12 core samples must be sent in the same containers, or the insurance will be charged twice.
