Checking to see if any members have had Cyberknife treatment at Beth Israel. If so, I would love to hear your experience and results.
Thank you,
Tim

Gee, Tim - It sounds like none of the regulars here has any experience at Beth Israel. I had mine in suburban Chicago, but if I can be of any help, just ask away.

Thanks Paxton. How are you feeling now? Are you happy with your decision? Did you also go with hormone therapy?
I met with Dr. Irving Kaplan of BI today (thank you TA for recommendation). I was extremely impressed with him. He really went into great details about
SRTM. He drew lots of pictures of both the machine and the layout of the various organs. I even came armed with all of TA's questions for SRTM that are up on the sticky posts. He was very patient and went into what I would call an "interview mode" during my questions. He went through the whole range of options.
I told him I was considering skipping hormone therapy. He said that he was "agnostic" on hormone therapy for intermediate risk group people such as myself. This is a big deal to me. I hope it is the right thing to do. Time will tell.
I spent about
an hour with him directly today.
I'm pretty certain that is the path I'm going to take... Cyberknife at Beth Israel. He said there is study coming out that is just about
to be published where all of the various SRTM centers (maybe specifically Cyberknife... don't recall) got together and looked at the long term results (roughly 5 year average IIRC) and it is very positive for SRTM.
Thank you,
Tim
