IMRT Issue/Question

After IMRT it took 2-3 weeks for my radiation side effects to subside. Basically they were limited to increased urgency and frequency of urinary and bowel habits. These were never significant and went away in about 2-3 weeks.

I did not have anything like what you are experiencing, but my guess is it may be more bowel related. Have you changed your diet? Many men reduce the fiber during radiation and then go back on afterwards and can cause some intestinal adjustment. When is your next check-up with your radiation oncologist? You may want to accelerate the next visit.

Hello again Jay !....congrats on the end of treatment !!.......the tightness in the gut ? I may have had a small amount of that , but nothing that would make me call the doc. ......it just seemed like a minor muscle strain , but I`m always doing something and figured it was from me overdoing ....nothing has become of it for me ......Hope you feel better .....if it`s a concern , call the RO and see what they say .....Good luck David

For what it's worth, after my 44 sessions I didn't notice anything like that. Never had any bowel urgency either, just urinary, and that pretty much resolved in a couple of months.
