Sir Roger Moore dies (cancer but not PCa?)

There are posts online about his death after a "short but brave battle with cancer". Cannot find the specific type of cancer. He did have PCa in 1993 and had surgery. If this was recurrence, at least he got about 25 more years. But read he had also been a smoker then quit, except for continuing with cigars for a time. So who knows. Perhaps more info will be released by family.

I also had the opportunity to meet Roger Moore several times when I worked in a shop in Beverly Hills right after college. Truly a nice man and he'd spend time chatting away with me as kid in my early 20s.

The stories I read said that it was a brief battle so I suspect it wasn't prostate cancer, but I suppose it still could have been...

I enjoyed nearly all his films.

I know a number of people didn't think he was the best Bond, but ther Bond of the books is not much like the Bond as vreated in the films.
I recall that him saying that he once met a very smart old lady in Venice when filming a Bond film and she didn't know who he was, when he explained he was playing Bond, she said that she thought he would be very good in the role as she had known Ian Fleming!

So, was Roger Moore the best James Bond?

When Roger played the part, one always got the feeling that he was very much enjoying himself in the role, having fun with it, with a wry smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.

Even if he didn't rank no. 1 in some poll, many will insist that he did a great job as 007. He did.
