BTC,
i went back and read your first posts, and now realize you are helping out your Brother. Praise to you, that is very special,as are you! I remember when I was first diagnosed, I called my sister for help in finding out everything we could about this beast. One of the first things she told me is that here good friend's father was just given a Zytiga prescription that was helping him out.
So four+ years later, like Mr. Todd1963 said..Zytiga..Yes we have heard of it! It is working very effectively for some, you just need to read the stories and experiences from the post that our Brother ISU Cyclone started.
Others should or could post in to correct any part of my post of limited knowledge here, we are mostly all lay persons, here-but I think Zytiga is denied sometimes in part due to it's $100,000+ a year cost, and is usually only approved by a lot of Insurance Companies(in my case is was) if and when a patient becomes castrate resistant, (simplified -meaning the PSA keeps jumping up after a period of initial treatment success.) Your brother does not appear to be there yet. Without the stats of his DX, posted for us, just his PSA and Gl score of 4+3 , he just may have long period before he may need to try this drug.
Also just my personal opinion, do not put too much credence in Nomograms and stats, your brother is an individual and not a statistic! Just keep researching, asking questions, find the right team of Oncologist that you trust, and then keep the faith!
Todd1963-
You ran of stuff to say? No way, not now, not for a long time. Not at least until you write that Book!
Not posting as often?, That's OK, it's the quality that matters , not the quantity.
