Well, I opted not to send slides to Epstein as an upgrade would not likely have made a marked impact on the treatment options and too many errors would have had to been found in the original pathology to result in a downgrade. At least as was explained to me. I did request copies of all imaging when the tests were performed. Didn't know what time frame to expect them in, but it's been a couple weeks so probably time to refresh the request. Do Uros typically keep any ultra sound images from the TRUS-Bx, or just keep notes? I asked him and didn't get a definitive answer. MANY of my other surgery questions to the same fellow have gone unanswered too, personable and talented surgeon but piss-poor at Dr./patient communication.
In any event, I am finding you -really- have to push past the 'we don't offer diagnosis over the phone, you must come in before we will even review your case' B.S. Like a broken record or knee jerk reaction, even if you explain you are simply calling for general information, ie. to confirm which machines they use for PCa treatment or have a particular expertise with. Roswell in Buffalo is a perfect example of this... 5 layers of phone triage, 2 emails, a rebuff by a Dept. secretary and his PA before my question reached the Onc Chair who finally responded after 3 days. Guess what? ..."I don't do phone consultations, you will need to schedule an appointment". Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, is anybody even listening??!
