I have been on the forum for a few months now and have mainly been a fly on the wall. I didn't have to much to add since there are so many vetran members out there with such good advice. I was diagnosed on May 16 and have been weighing my options and trying to come to the best decision for me and my familiy. With the help of the forum, local doctores and quite a few direct emails from Tall Allen i made up my mind and am booked in for Brachytherpay this Tues. I cant express how thankful i am to all the members and the varied opinions and experiences that can help us rookies. There may not be the perfect choice but for what we have up here in Canada i think i am comfortable with my decison. I do wish Sbrt didn't cost 45 g for a Canadian to go to the states and get it done since i think it seems like a big part of treatment for prostrate cancer now and into the future. Again thanks to Allen and all the fantastic members.

You are having it done by Mira Keyes - one of the top brachy docs in North America, imho. I wouldn't feel like I was settling with her in charge.

I think that's a great way to do a conference, with video streaming. OHSU and UWSeattle are at the leading edge of many therapies (as is the Vancouver Prostate Center). I would particularly have been interested to hear Celestia Higano. I wish I could bend her ear for an hour on research she is doing for advanced PC. I'm glad her name is getting out there to the patient community.

Hey astronaut , having ldr , I saw dr crook in kelowna and almost. Enrolled in the study they are doing between HDR and ldr but I decided to go with ldr here in van . Yes only done there right now.
