So you had both brachytherapy, which is the seed implant, and you also had some form of external radiation at a different time???
I’m not sure exactly what your treatment was by your explanation. They are two different and separate treatments. Brachy involves an operating room, doctors, anesthesia and at least 3 to 4 hours. Radioactive seeds are implanted through needles into the prostate. No “zapping” is done. You are then usually released after spending some time in the recovery room. The radiation, IMRT, IGRT, or SBRT, is done in stages over a period of days. Depending on the type you had. That is where you would lie on a table, in some cases, they require you to fill your bladder, and the total time on the table is anywhere from 15 minutes to half an hour or so. This is done while you are fully awake.
Please try to post what procedure you had done. Like JNF said above, this disease is confusing enough. New patients may read your post and come up with all kinds of questions from the misleading info you posted.
btw.......also glad to hear you are doing well....whatever treatment you had....lol
