I just watched this hour long video of an RALP performed by Dr Hemal at Wake Forest. Very impressed by his skill. This is the best info that I've seen so far on RALP.

Personally, I think these are fascinating to watch. I've had several other surgeries, and watched them all online before having my operation. I watched a RALP before signing up for my own 8 years ago, and in fact my surgeon asked my about broadcasting mine live to a conference as he narrated. In the end he found another patient volunteer who had a more "interesting" case. My thought at the time was that it was nice to NOT have an "interesting" case.

The operation is fascinating. I'm amazed at the absence of blood, the lighting and magnification. A prostate is really not that large. The instruments of the robot are only centimeters in length.

I remember my diagnosing urologist telling me removal of your gallbladder is a piece of cake compared to a prostatectomy. There is lot going on in that part of your body.
