Hello to everyone.
It has taken a few weeks to be able to type these words, but my husband Chris, of 35 years passed away on September 18 at home at the young age of 59 years old.
His courage and stength was amazing.
I have lost my love, soul mate and best friend.
The journey we went through for the last 2 1/2 years was filled with hope, pain, gaining constant knowledge from all of you here, but most of all it was filled with lots of love. We traveled this journey together and never gave up hope.
His time came to leave this earth without a cure, but I still have not lost hope that a cure will come very soon for advanced prostate cancer.
Thank you to all of you for your support, knowledge and never ending caring of everyone on this forum.
Grief is a very dark and lonely place to be, but I will make him proud and somehow find my way out of the darkness. It is what he wanted me to do and be strong for our kids and most of all his beloved grand babies that he so cherished more than anything.
We will love and honor him the rest of our days.

Chris is now sheltered from the storms of life, and is at peace ...

Unfortunately this is the kind of post we get here on this forum from time to time, and it never gets any easier to read any of them, when they appear

But when you tell us "... his courage and stength was amazing" I'm sure that was very much because of the love and support that you gave him, in great measure, and when he needed it.

May you now find peace as time passes, and may you find solace in the memories of your time with him.

Prostate cancer can be so cruel. Chris was way too young.
Chris had you to stand by him right till the end, your hear is broken but Chris must be at peace.

I am saddened to hear this. I know how hard you sought for ways to extend his life and your time together. Chris was way too young (although there is never a good time), and I am left with anger and indignation over the unfairness of it. I hope you have some comfort in the enduring love for each other which overcomes death.

Thank you for letting us know, Sue. You were so gracious and generous this July when you previously posted about your experiences after entering home hospice back in April. It really helped a lot of us here be closer to your experience, and to learn so much from it. Your mutual support with Beth during her simultaneous hospice time with her husband was wonderful, too.

I hope the healing and new living with the kids and grandkids will bring you much solace now, and great joys in your futures. Also hope that the other "older folks" in your life are doing well toward the end of their lives, too, even if that may mean another hospice experience, eventually.

Your Love for one another will live on in you and the kids and grandkids.
