I joined HW PC nine years to the day. It was October 13, 2008. I joined about 2 months after my PC dx. and about 1 month before I underwent open surgery.

Won't repeat my twisted story here, too well known. Still dealing with metastatic cancer 9 years after. Both surgery and SRT quickly failed.

Have learned a lot over the years, made some good friends, some no longer with us.

There is nothing good about any cancer, they all suck.

My thanks to all of you that have helped me over the years.

Hi David and happy anniversary such that it is. I think I joined HW about 2-3 weeks before you but we are both in the class of 2008. Lots of new faces have come and gone since then but there are still a few of the old timers that keep coming back.

Sorry for your recent and ongoing issues. I know there is nothing we can do but keep hoping for the best for you.

Purgatory,

I am aware of your many struggles, yet you’re still here. I also have had failed RP and SRT, so you inspire me on many levels. I hope that we are both here nine years from now.

Hello David, I joined HW in early January 2009 and remember that you were the first person to offer advice. It has been a long time but I have followed your journey and look forward to your posts. I wish you the best.

Hi, David. The names "Purgatory" and "HealingWell" seem almost synonymous. When I joined in late 2010, you were there to welcome me. Thanks for your continued participation here.

I was one of the forum members who responded to your first post here in 2008, although you've been a more robust participant over the years ( 25,000-plus posts) than I. Also, my life has been a relatively easy road since I joined ,and yours has been closer to Dante's Purgatory.

I am very glad to see your update, and continue to wish you all the best with your ongoing struggles. You have done it so hard, but continue resolutely, and tell it like it is. That's why we all respect and admire you so much. You are right - cancer sucks. But finding friendship, understanding and support on this forum does not.

I am rarely on here anymore. I come in when I get my annual physical and post my latest PSA and data (late Dec each year). But just today I was thinking of you and I came in just to check on you. I see that you are still fighting the good fight in the face of many challenges. I am thinking of you. Good luck friend. Keep fighting the good fight.
