Very good news today. My PSA came back at 0.7, down slightly from 0.8 in July. Before the appointment, I had written down my prediction, 0.8 +/- 0.1. I showed it to the doc after he told me the number, and we had a good laugh.
This is reasonably close to the
Gompertz curve PSA projection I made back in March. It's very likely the PSA could flatline right around this 0.8 +/- level for a very long time. The plan from here is to just check it each quarter, and see the oncologist again in a year. A year!
They also checked my testosterone level. It was, amazingly, 700! This is over 50% higher than my baseline, and I feel great. The stabilizing PSA isn't due to any limited testosterone effect.
So, very few side effects from treatments, stable PSA, testosterone better than baseline. I'd call that a pretty decent outcome, especially considering where I started and everything we did. It was a long road.
Feeling very blessed today. Very grateful.
This is presented in the spirit of being another positive point for any G9 folks; stay the course, a good outcome is possible. We'll see ultimately where this goes, but right now I'm pretty optimistic.
