Well, I just received my most recent PSA results and am happy to have the < sign at 6 months post RP. Since my newest reading was <.1 and not like the 3 month result of <.02, I assume it was a different lab doing my test even though I specifically asked my PCP's office to make sure they were the same. Any thoughts on how much it matters concerning the preciseness of the two tests? Just wondering since I did have some Tertiary 5 along with my GS 7 - don't want to miss any significant rise in PSA. TIA.

You need to call and ask for another decimal place.

That wasn't just a different lab, it was a different test. The <0.1 was from a conventional PSA test, the <0.02 was from an ultrasensitive PSA test. You have to be re-tested with an ultrasensitive PSA test.

I had a similar issue a couple of years ago with my former urologist after they shifted to Quest labs. The uro's office needed to code the test form for a "post-prostatectomy" test with a different code number rather than a standard PSA test. The code wasn't on the standard test form (which may have moved to on-line by now) so the uro's office had to type the code on the bottom of the form.

Update: uPSA at 9 months post-RALP is <.02 !! Great news and I think I’m starting to relax a bit with this testing. One question: After my next test at 1 yr point, will I most likely to be able to go to semi-annual tests?
