Third biopsy !

As usual I’m anxious prior to biopsy, I suffer from both prostititis and bph. Previous biopsy’s 32 months ago and 55 months ago were because of a big uptick in psa, one time 7.9 another was 5.4. Both biopsy’s came back neg....last year and a half psa bounced between 3.5 and 3.9. This last time it jumped to 4.375 in a 6 month period from 3.9...It was definitely after a bout of prostitis ...6 weeks later came down to 4.29...dr. Wanted t9 wait 6 more weeks and repeat psa and do a psa free...with a biopsy being the outcome if my psa doesn’t get below 4.1 and psa free is in a good range....I got tired of the what if’s and worrying so I asked if it made sense to just repeat the biopsy. Urologist only if you are going to worry for the next 6 weeks ...so...12/6 having biopsy #3. Worried but hopeful that this will come back negative.
Dr even made a special appt for my biopsy on a day he usually doesn’t do them to accommodate my busy schedule and get this over with...thank you for reading and feel free to comment

Thank you for the feedback...no doubt I am anxious. My dad had pc with a horrible diet...I am the opposite and am lean and fit. My urologist is rated #1in Rhode Island and uses John Hopkins for his readings,,,, have seen this dr for about 25 years and I’m willing to endure a 10 minute procedure for some peace of mind...I did ask about other options in mri quite frankly I don’t remember his response but. Ottom line is he comfortable with the guided biopsy ...wish me luck!

We are all different in how we handle things. I understand you have been down this road. Although you have a lot of experience with treatment, none of us are doctors and I could have waited for the free psa and another psa evaluation, I choose to see if anything new has developed....my dad had pc and I am just trying to be diligent...I appreciate your opinions...thank you
