It has been over four years since my surgery, and over two years since my radiotherapy and I haven't had a problem with incontinence until this weekend. Well, this past weekend I came down with a ferocious stomach virus which required a visit to the ER for an IV and Zolfran. During my frequent episodes of vomiting and dry heaves I was partially incontinent with each episode of vomiting. I guess this is another form of stress incontinence that I will have to put up with.

I've no experience, but I would bet that you are on track likening this to other instances of stress incontinence. Think back. . . vomiting is not easy on your abdominal muscles. The straining to empty the system probably is the stress that becomes uncontrollable in the urinary tract.

I agree with Paxton, sounds logical it would be stress incontinence. When you are vomiting, muscles in your abdominal area are convulsing, it would make sense if you have occasional stress incontinence that would be one of those occasions.

This delightful phenomenon can happen with a severe stomach bug to anybody.

Inadvertant micturation during emesis can take all the fun out of it.
