Post Prostate Biopsy: ejaculation/orgasm

I am 6 weeks post biopsy. My semen volume is reduced by around 60%, instead of shooting 6-18 inches only an inch, and orgasm during ejaculation is barely perceptible. Substantial viscosity difference. Still have pre-orgasm sensations though.

How likely will this continue?

Will see urologist next week but would appreciate some direct feedback.

Will get genetic results next week.

Yes, I had seen that, but since I’m not taking bph drugs and situation was a bit different (not dry), I was hoping for others similar to my situation.

Likely another 2 to 4 weeks. Lots of holes where poked in the prostate. Takes time to heal.

good topic of conversation to have with a URO.

All of us who had a biopsy had varying degrees of blood, semen reduction, change in orgasm. For me it cleared up just in time for primary treatment to erase any recovery.

Had a fusion biopsy 8/25. Still hardly any semen. Still seeing blood, but not quite as much. Getting annoying. Hope it works out for you Gary.

Well, you could look at it this way....preparation for what it will be like after treatment. Most treatments lead to reduction or elimination of semen on a permanent basis. It's one of the more minor side effects we wind up dealing with.

For me, as a surgery patient who has kept my function, once we got used to the loss of ejaculate, it has it's advantages.

I appear to be better than some, worse than than others. At least getting more data points is not painful. See urologist on Tuesday for my two pages of questions that I have accumulated since his recommendation of AS. Will also get genetic feedback at that time. I assume that will spawn even more questions...

I went in to everyone of my 6 consults with surgeons, RO's and Uro's armed with 1 -2 pages of questions.

Just a thought on protocol: I allowed the Doc's to do their thing right off the bat. I let them go through their spiel thinking I would ask my questions afterwards. I found with one exception, and that was not the Doc for me, that about 90% of my questions had been answered without my asking them. Then all but one, the same one of above, asked if I had any questions at which point I asked my remaining few.

Just a thought.

Just a thought on protocol: ...

So far I have been really impressed with my latest urologist. Extremely easy to talk to. I have already warned him that I ask more questions than most, just ask my cardiologist.

A PS to my profile (I'm beyond my 400 character limit):

6 samples from representative areas where taken where no malignancy was found. The remaining samples were done at a saturation level within the neoplasm. Of the slides that tested positive, 4% of area was malignant. I'm still getting my facts straight on this.

Approaching the two month mark and things are getting closer to normal, maybe 80% of normal. I have a feeling that another month will do it...

Had my biopsy yesterday (24hrs ago). I have drank a lot of liquids and my urine is clear. I generally heal pretty fast. What about ejaculation? Dr. said wait a week before sex but I have read posts from both men and wives that they started ejaculating daily starting the day after the procedure as a way to "clean out" the husbands system. The doctor just poked a bunch of holes in the thing that controls those fluids. Isn't it dangerous to start jacking off so soon? Yeah, it may come out coffee colored and I would assume that it will clear up quickly if you ejaculate often but 24hrs after the procedure, jacking off is not on the top of my list of wants. I fear doing more harm by working the gland before it is ready.

Wait a week for spots to heal some as doc says. Masterbate before trying sex with a partner. Sometimes it looks pretty disgusting. Lots worse than a coffee color. After week of masterbating, I still used a condom to keep from grossing out my wife. I had huge clots of blood and that is common.

After my first biopsy, I didn't feel normal in that region for about three months. There was rectal discomfort and discomfort with ejaculation. and yes, the ejaculate was reduced in volume and velocity (for lake of a better term)

Internal parts of the body REALLY don't like being disturbed. Poking a dozen needles into them over the course of 20-30 minutes is very disturbing indeed. Not to mention the mental stress impact that one might experience.. And, well the anxiety either prior to results or after results of there is cancer.
