I don't mean to doubt you, but Dr King doesn't have a protocol like that. I can understand why he might want to treat this as "high risk," given the suggestion of extracapsular extension (was the capsular irregularity palpable?). But Dr King's "high risk" protocol calls for
optional Lupron, starting 2 months before SBRT and continuing for
up to 7 months after. I have been along on many patient visits to Dr King and he always left the choice up to the patient - every single time. May I suggest you send him an email confirming that ADT is not optional? You can tell him "Allen asked," if you like.
In one of my PC support groups, 3/4 of the men (and the group moderator) are in AA. Several have been through hormone therapy and not one has fallen off the wagon because of it. Perhaps your husband may benefit from joining a PC Support group.
