I am 3 weeks post surgery and feeling great. I am on daily Viagra (20mg) and I am feeling ready to try sex and seem to have very little ED, though I haven’t given it a real test. Could a little minor activity hurt. I know they say that the sooner you get things going the better but is this too soon?

as my doctor said once, "I prefer you wait till you get home."

Two answers, Boston:
(1) Check with your surgeon. I suspect if you’re under typical orders to do no lifting for 6 weeks, vigorous sex would be frowned on, at the same time as s/he’ll be delighted to hear you’ve got wood. There’s a lot of healing to soft tissue still going on, even if you feel 100 percent. That includes the urethral anastomosis, which you don’t want to overstress.
(2) You’re gonna try it, Boston, you
know
you’re gonna try it. Just take it easy. No Olympic gymnastics. If you end up pulling a muscle or something, tell your surgeon it happened when you pushed a wheelbarrow full of topsoil while spring gardening.

Are you talking about
with a partner or by yourself? If by yourself, certainly go for it - the more the better! If your palms get hairy, you can stop. If with a partner, be careful of pulling all those nice stitches your surgeon just gave you.

I was told 4 weeks after surgery, which gives enough time to heal.

I'd repeat the "take it easy" approach. I think my first try was about
3 weeks after surgery, and everything worked fine. Just stay off the chandeliers or try too many different positions. Good luck!

I'll agree again with those above. I had sex 2 weeks after my surgery. I cried like a girl. Thankfully job done at that stage. My advice. Stay on your back and let your partner do the driving in the slow lane. Theres no weight on the sensitive area if your careful. So yipee! Back on the horse but think of it as a slow trot along the beach. Your not at the rodeo for while yet.

Boston,
be aware that it will feel different. Maybe very different. Some guys report "best ever", some guys report "weird but good", some report, "it all works but not enjoyable at all". Also, some percentage of men post RALP have climacturia--where they leak--or spray--urine at climax. It can happen.

Deucedly useful word, "climacturia". Say it with a Monty Python upper class twit accent, as in "Sorry m'dear, bit of climacturea. Can I get you a towel?"
Your surgeon may have other advice but my sense is that when you
feel
ready you
are
ready. But you might want to do a few cautious solo practice runs first to make sure you know what you are ready
for
.
