I switched back to my original URO at the end of July. When I entered the hall from the waiting room I was handed a cup for a urine sample, then during the office visit the URO asked if I had seen any blood in my urine and the answer was yes about
6 weeks prior while urinating and at the end I dripped 3/5 bright red blood drops. My urine sample was positive for blood.
URO scheduled me to come back last Friday and performed a cystoscopy in his office. He saw two red areas at the base of the bladder and thought they were Cystitis from the RT, but wants to rule out bladder cancer from the RT. Next week the URO has me coming back to the hospital where they will administer general anesthesia and perform another cystoscopy and obtain tissue samples for pathology. I am hoping for no more cancer and no more additional cancer treatments, and a change of luck. Gotta wait 5 to 7 days for pathology report after the procedure!!!
Is there any treatment for Cystitis? Or do we just bleed a little from now on? Point of fact, RT is not free from side effects.
BTW - I had been drinking just water (lots) after a couple cups of coffee in the am before the blood was seen.
