Stan, it's rough. Unfortunately you're getting hit with everything that is usually downplayed about
radiation... and you've only just started. My diarrhea and explosive gas began the second week. Eight months later I still have four poops on some days.
TA's list above is
excellent. Men should read this list thoroughly, and focus on
each and every seemingly insignificant statement, and imagine if that was
you, all day, every day. Things like stool leaking out, need to pee but can't. Sounds innocent enough until you actually experience it.
Then you mention it to your doctor and he just shrugs and says "some bowel disruption is to be expected". Really? REALLY?!! I don't remember being told about
that beforehand.
It's been pretty easy to say that "surgery will leave you impotent and incontinent", and everyone gets scared. But choosing primary radiation brings with it its own set of what I see as serious complications.
