ADT and SRT Journey Part 4

Good on you, Progressing. Hang in there. Those middle weeks were the toughest on me mentally — seemed like I’d been getting zapped forever, but still had a gazillion fractions left. It speeds up once you summit at fraction 20. You’ll be through all 40 before you know it.

My RO and I spent more time talking about golf and his bad back, which he threw out on the links the second week of my tx, than about my PCa.

Progressing, thanks for the update, seems like you just started, now you are at 15.

Richard, glad to hear you are having no bad side radiation effects.

Gary, glad you are improving.

Progressing... Hey sounds like a good report like Richard says next thing you know it will be over glad to hear the SE's are almost minimal! Most of my meetings were with the nurse practitioner and the physicians assistant as it was winter time and my Doctor went on vacation for a month.

Think very hard, and research even harder, before letting them give you a third Lupron shot.

Hopefully you can start coasting down that slope!

Hip pain: Hard to know whether minor, transient discomforts are SEs or something else. I had loose stool for a few days last week. Delayed SE of the salvage radiation? Intestinal bug? Too much chili pepper in the larb pla? Some combination thereof?

I’m due for my third 3-month Eligard injection in early September. I’m really fed up with the hot flashes. Don’t think the Effexor is effective anymore. My RO wants me on the juice at least 9 months and, apologies to Gary, I’ve decided to follow his advice. I see him for followup Sept 18, maybe we’ll try a different medication for the hot flashes.

Didn't get on much the last week not been a good week, Last week after an extensive and expensive annual on my airplane we went to do the run-up after the annual for some reason they haven't figured out yet as soon as I hand propped it which I always do from the backside or other wise I wouldn't be here the motor started and went right up to 1/4 throttle jumped over my chock blocks drug me around for about 10 circles before I could get free then proceeded to wreck a car, a hanger door before it destroyed itself in the door. After the fire dept, ambulances, sheriff, state patrol and local cops all showed up both the airport manager who also got drug around and myself even tho we were still shaking from the experience both were just so thankful that we had all of our limbs they weren't scraping us up off the pavement. Made me think of our experiences with ADT and SRT yep some of us are experiencing se's funny bowel movements, minor incontinence which if you think about it a lot of women our age use pads, hot flashes again what women experience daily, and the Lupron fog which we can use when the wife ask us for a honey do project and we forget? LOL no seriously we are alive and most of us have an undetectable psa and almost as low testosterone level but hey were alive to spend another day with our loved ones!!!!!

Larry, I’ve worked for the FAA for the past 31 years and never heard a story like that! Just happy to hear you’re ok!!

If you do a search there is actually a training video put out by the Faa to address this very issue that's all I could think about as i was running around hanging onto strut at a 200 heart rate wondering how I'm gonna get out of this cause the end result was not looking to good but after it struck a tugger saw that it was my chance and made a run for it it worked. I told the medic from the ambulance crew if that didn't give me a heart attack nothing will!! Hope everyone that is getting treatment this week that things are going good for you I have noticed this week that bowel movement and control are getting back more to the norm which I'm very thankful for.
