Ten years ago, it took my urologist 3 tries to find my PC..2.5 years passed before "The Problem" was found. There is no doubt in my mind that if my cancer was found sooner that my treatment would have been more successful...The standard 12 core TRUS biopsy has trouble sampling the "apex" area of the prostate gland and that's where a lot of cancer likes to hide.
Similar experience here, but mine was in the base (below the bladder), which my current Uro, my fourth, remarked "you can never find it when it's up there".
Fortunately mine was discovered on the second biopsy, a fusion biopsy, which my original Uro was not trained to do... but again, several years had passed, and I consider myself fortunate that it was found before it might have progressed beyond T3b. When I read of cases like yours Fairwind I can only count my blessings.
