I haven’t posted in a while but wanted to update everyone on my latest treatment plan.

My PSA has been slowly climbing and is now around 23. Latest Bone Scan is clean but CT Scan shows lesions in both right kidney and Adrenal Gland as well as several lymph nodes in the same area. Lungs and Liver are clean.

So I qualified for a Trial at MDA combining an Immunotherapy drug with a PARB Inhibitor (Talazoparib and Avelumab). I started first treatments today and we will re-scan in 8 weeks to measure effectiveness. Nervous but hopeful that this treatment will get me down the road a ways. It’s been a rough 6 months and ready for some good news.

Hope to see everyone in September in Rochester if all goes well.

Did they biopsy a tumor to test for DNA-repair defects?

Yes but biopsy was yesterday. No reaukts yet. Last biopsy showed no genetic defects.

Do they still give you PARP-inhibitor if no genetic defects?

Glad your on a pkan to kick this back down. Pat and I have been thinking of you guys One of these weekends that you travel to NO. We need to meet up for either lunch or dinner and drinks.

I want to know about the treatment of PARP inhibitors. As you have no genetic mutations and they still started this treatment, I want to know what was the outcome.
I hope you are doing good and in best of your health.

Sadly, Jannnett, our comrade John16 --- who created this thread some years ago --- passed away in November 2018 --- after a valiant battle against prostate cancer. Peace to his memory.

Always said to hear that a fellow PCa brother has passed. Rare, but we know all to well that it does happen. John had, as evidenced by his signature, a very aggresive, Gleason 10 case
May he rest in peace and may his family find comfort.
