Just a story.
I flew to Alaska with my parents in 1971. From that day forward I wanted to be an airline pilot. That was my goal in life until my first boy/girl make out party at age 13. You can picture it all right. The music is on, the lights go out, I move in for my first kiss, and then it happened... somebody turned on a strobe light and I stopped, dropped, and flopped. As it turns out, I had epilepsy. I outgrew it but I can never be a pilot. Things change. I also went many years after before I got that first kiss.
Why am I saying all this? IDK... I guess because it is funny and a little lightness was suggested in another post. Also, because it is true. We spend our lifebputting our eggs into a basket and then the rug gets jerked out Freon under us. It happens. Eggs all over the floor.... very messy stuff. Our plans don’t really matter. Life has other plans. We can only play the hand we are dealt to the best of our abilities. We get our panties in a bunch over the most trivial things. The truth is, none of it matters. Any allusion of greatness we possess will vanish when we are dust. All we need is love. It is all that matters. Everything else we be forgotten.

Someone said we tend to take life and ourselves way too seriously, which can lead to overestimation for our importance in the scheme of things. A hundred years from now virtually no one will know that any of us even existed. The world will plod on just fine without us.

You guys are being way too serious. That was a funny true story. Kind of like how I got a smokin hot wife 15 years my junior and then got diagnosed with prostate cancer and doomed to being on ADT the rest of my life

the adulation of TA continues in strange reactive...reversal...good lord he is a researcher...a good one...he helps people (its own reward)we all do that...void...schmoid ...when a member does exactly what they know how to do...a void???......er no...when any member...any...tries to help another member in good faith with as much or little( a mite }… his worth is no more and certainly no less...than any one else...any...PERIOD... idea scool

Hey guys. Not trying to cause a ruckus no far from it just would like to politely say that there are a lot of Alan posts out there and I would prefer for this not to be one of them because it wasn’t written that way. Thank you so much

A similar thing happened to me with my GF. To her credit, she’s rolling with it, and I wouldn’t have blamed her if she hadn’t.

Sounds like your wife is on board with you as well. The women have character.

Agree. Let me say I never got any of that from your OP. Just a personal story about how things change. And boy do they!

You have to roll with it. I started down the pilot path as well. I look back at the choices I have made and whatever they were, have led me to where I am now.

Life is a roller coaster....dispatch, enjoy your ride! Hands up!
